According to Ridgewood for Black Liberation, he has since been released.

Daily protests at the jail have been ongoing since Nov. 27 as ICE detainees at the jail have been on a hunger strike for nearly a month.

Tensions have been rising since Sunday when protesters blocked traffic outside the jail.

Then, this week, Sheriff Anthony Cureton's house was vandalized when someone spray-painted "free them all" on the garage of his Englewood home.

The Abolish ICE NY/NJ Coalition released a statement in the wake of that story, stating clearly that they were not responsible for the vandalism.

"The Abolish ICE NY-NJ Coalition and the organizations it represents are not responsible for the vandalism at Sheriff Anthony Cureton's house. Our sole focus is supporting the men currently on hunger strike for their freedom," they wrote.
