What would you do if the Emmy Awards called? Buy a gown, book a salon appointment, and get a massage? If you are Joel and Kim Ansh (formerly of River Edge) of Fatboy’s Cookie Dough, you start to bake the cookies.
Fair Lawn-based The Fatboy Cookie Company was contacted by Off The Wall Gifts to be included in gift bags distributed to attendees at the 32nd Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards.
“I thought it was a scam when I saw the email but when I investigated the company on the internet I learned this was legitimate,” laughs Kim Ansh, who lives with her husband in Franklin Lakes.

Fatboy’s is pre-cut frozen cookie dough packaged for convenient fresh baked cookie. For this occasion, over 3200 cookies were baked for inclusion in the swag bags. Nominees such as Diane Sawyer, Katie Couric and Brian Williams will have the chance to munch on Fatboy’s Chocolate Chunk cookies as they wait their turn in the spotlight.
The couple has been working around the clock to assemble 800 bags of their cookies for inclusion in the official Emmy’s gift tote. All attendees to the awards ceremony will receive the gift tote.

“We have had eight days to create a package, bake the cookies and assemble the cookie bags.” said Ansh. “My children along with my parents from Seaford offered to help us meet the deadline. It has been a fun family affair,” she added.
According to Val Wilson owner of Off The Wall Gifts, the company selects smaller businesses and new brands to showcase in the Emmy bags.
“I am hoping we can create the “Oprah Effect” on showcasing their products to influencers,” said Wilson. Fatboy Cookies will be one of thirty-five products to be included in this year’s Emmy gift bag.
“We are very excited that Fatboy cookies received an Emmy nod,” said Joel Ansh.
