Autumn Equinox Celebration By Waterspirit in Rumson

The "eco-spiritual" organization will host the program on Sept. 22 at the First Presbyterian Church of Rumson.

RUMSON, NJ — Celebrate the "season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" at Waterspirit's Fall Equinox Celebration Thursday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m.

The event will be in-person at Waterspirit’s headquarters at the First Presbyterian Church of Rumson, 4 E. River Road, and is a way to welcome the new season with "spiritually inclusive prayers and reflections," the organization said.

The event also will be livestreamed to the Waterspirit YouTube channel.

There will be eco-spiritual prayer, contemplation and music by Arlan Feiles, all of which explore the deeper meaning of autumn. More about these celebrations is on the Waterspirit website, said Blair A. R. Nelsen, executive director.

"Intentionally connecting with the cycles of nature is an eco-spiritual practice that helps us regulate our inner lives and strengthen our connection with the planet," Waterspirit says. The program is inclusive of all faith traditions.

Waterspirit, an ecological and spiritual organization, is a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. Since its founding in 1998, Waterspirit has been on the forefront of the field of religion and ecology, its website says.
