A big tree crashed on an 88-year-old New Jersey woman's house Wednesday, with her inside, police said.

A big tree crashed on an 88-year-old New Jersey woman's house Wednesday, with her inside, police said.

The crashed happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday on Katherine Street in Fair Haven, according to News12, and the woman survived.

Ruth Bassini was identified as the woman in the home, and she somehow managed to avoid the tree

penetrating her bedroom, according to The Red Bank Green. Volunteer firefighters responded to the 12:52 a.m. call, and a borough building inspector will inspect the damage.

The woman was lying in bed when the tree fell dow, after the tree cracked the ceiling, according to the reports. She will be staying with her son while repairs are made.

Bassini was able to get out of the home and call 911, but had to leave her cat behind. Neither Ruth, nor the cat were injured.
