Bike Thefts in Fair Haven

Multiple bike thefts have been reported from Fair Haven driveways and in front of Knollwood School.

FAIR HAVEN, NJ - Lock up your bikes if you live in Fair Haven! At least four bikes have been stolen from driveways and bike racks in town last month. The information about the bike thefts was released by Fair Haven police in their monthly police blotter, and published in the Rumson Fair Haven Retrospect:

  • A Third Street resident reported on Nov. 19 that someone had stolen a bicycle from her driveway. Sgt. Jesse Dykstra took the theft report.
  • A Third Street resident reported on Nov. 8 that a bicycle was stolen from his driveway. Patrolman John Koetzner took the theft report.
  • A Harrision Avenue resident reported on Nov. 3 that a juvenile’s bike was stolen from the bike rack of Knollwood School. Patrolman Brooks Robinson took the theft report.
  • A Buena Vista Ave resident reported on Nov. 2 that a bicycle was stolen from her driveway. Patrolman John Koetzner took the theft report.

In other Fair Haven police blotter news:

• A Harvard Road resident reported on Nov. 1 the theft of an iPhone from inside her vehicle which was parked in her driveway. Cpl. John Waltz took the report.

Jonmichael Puryear, 23, of Fair Haven, was arrested on Sunday, Nov. 13 following a motor vehicle stop and charged with eluding, aggravated assault, possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute, as well as several traffic violations. He ran from the police when he was stopped on Harding Road for a traffic violation, police said. He was held on $20,000 bail at the Monmouth County Correctional Institution, Freehold.
