Rumson, NJ - A graduate of Rumson Country Day School, Evan Soltas penned an op-ed you might have read over the weekend in the Sunday New York Times.
Soltas’ piece, “The Rise of Hate Search,” found that in the hours after the San Bernardino shootings “kill Muslims” was the top Google search in California with the word “Muslims” in it. Writes Soltas:
“The frightening thing is this: If our model is right, Islamophobia and thus anti-Muslim hate crimes are currently higher than at any time since the immediate aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks.”
