Oak Hill Academy captures 2nd & 3rd Place at M.A.S.T. Jeopardy
Oak Hill Academy took home 2nd and 3rd place out of a 26 team field hosted by the Marine Academy of Science and Technology.

Sandy Hook, NJ - Oak Hill Academy took home 2nd and 3rd place out of a 26 team field hosted by the Marine Academy of Science and Technology (M.A.S.T.) Jeopardy style academic competition on Thursday, October 16 at their M.A.S.T. campus on Sandy Hook.
The competition consisted of a round robin preliminary round of 8 groups of 4 teams each (with 4 team members competing) in a Jeopardy style competition where there were six categories with point totals of 20, 40, 60, 80 & 100 in each. After the first three rounds were completed, the total scores of the three rounds were totaled to create the seeding for the final rounds. After this result, Oak Hill had teams in the third and fourth seeds overall.
In one semi-final, Team 1 (#3 seed) upset number 2 seeded Brielle in a triple sudden death overtime round at the end of regulation with the score tied at 720 points. In the other, Team 2 (#4 seed) lost to a very powerful team from Cedar Drive in Colts Neck, but surged to upset Brielle and capture the Third place trophy! After a tough battle versus a very dynamic team in Cedar Drive, Team 1 secured the Second Place Trophy coming from behind after losing their first match in the preliminary rounds. In addition, Team 5 captured 5th place; so Oak Hill Academy placed 3 Teams in the top 5!

Congratulations to Team 1 team members: Zachary Basile (Middletown), Lucas Bruckmann (Freehold), Hannah Gazdus (Rumson), Dylan Servilla (Rumson) and William Walsh (Fair Haven) for Second Place; and to Team 2 team members: Anna Effenberger (Colts Neck), Jonathan Giuffre (Colts Neck), Mary Mahoney (Middletown), Bryan Soler (Freehold), and Bella Ybarra (Holmdel) for capturing third.
