Soldier From Fair Haven Killed In Double-Fatal Crash: Cops

The soldier died in a training accident, authorities said.

A New Jersey soldier was one of two people killed in a two-vehicle crash this week, according to authorities.

The 1st Armored Division said it was "addened by the tragic loss" of Pfc. Jamie R. Riley, 21, of Fair Haven and Cpl. Cole Trevor Wixom, 24, of Michigan.

Both died as a result of injuries suffered during a training incident in New Mexico, according to the division.

"We extend our condolences to their families," the division said in a Tweet.

Seven other military members remain hospitalized after two military training vehicles crashed in southern New Mexico, according to The Associated Press.
