West River Road In Rumson Closed Thursday Due To Improvement Work

RUMSON, NJ - West River Road is closed to through traffic on Thursday due to flooding prevention work, authorities said.

The road closure is in effect between Bingham and Bellevue Avenues, the Rumson Police Department said.

To alleviate flooding that comes down the hill from the area of Sugar Maple Lane, catch basins are being installed on either side of West River Road, a spokesman from the Rumson Police Department told Patch.

For the next few days, crews are connecting the basins across the width of the road so the so traffic cannot drive through.

Local businesses and parks can still be accessed during the road closure.
