Police Release Photos of Armed Fanwood Bank Robbery Suspect

Do you know this man? A black male, about 50 years old and armed with a gun who allegedly robbed the Provident bank is wanted

Fanwood, NJ -- Fanwood Police are looking for a man armed with a gun who allegedly robbed the Provident Bank at 206 South Avenue, Tuesday around 10:13 a.m.

The bank robbery suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, thin build, in his early 50s. The suspect was wearing a dark colored jacket, blue jeans, dark baseball cap, dark shoes with a yellow and orange traffic vest with vertical stripes. The suspect was wearing a white dust mask covering his nose and mouth, wearing work gloves and carrying a dark colored back pack, according to the FBI Newark Division.

The man fled the scene in an older Chevrolet SUV type vehicle, silver or beige in color with no license plate given at this time.

A male fitting the description was reportedly at the Fanwood Train Station, according to BNN. Michael Whitaker with the FBI's Public Affairs Office could not confirm this information.

Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo was not immediately available for comment.
