Brief: Caracter Arrested, Charged With Battery
The Fanwood resident, drafted by the Lakers last April, was arrested in New Orleans, the L.A. Times reports.

Los Angeles Lakers rookie and Fanwood-native Derrick Caracter was arrested early Sunday morning in New Orleans for an apparent altercation outside the team's hotel, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times. He was charged with battery.
The Lakers were in New Orleans for Game Four of their first-round playoff series against the New Orleans Hornets. Caracter, a forward who averaged two points and one rebound in 41 regular-season games, has remained on the Lakers' inactive list throughout the series. He did not return calls for comment.
