Car Burglary Reported on Parkwood Drive

Scotch Plains Police Blotter includes car burglary and DUI arrest of driver allegedly involved in a Westfield accident

Scotch Plains, NJ -- A Parkwood Drive resident reported a theft from their car on May 1.

The resident stated that sometime between 3 and 9 p.m., someone entered their unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway and stole numerous personal items.

The Garwood Police Department also recovered the resident’s items during a motor vehicle stop. This incident is current under investigation.

On May 1: Rashon Roach, age 24, of Plainfield was arrested on an Outstanding Warrant. Off. Lavery conducted a motor vehicle stop on Woodland Ave. and discovered the driver, Roach, had an active warrant out of The South Plainfield Municipal Court. Roach was transported to headquarters for processing.

On May 3: Ronald Forson, age 27, of Prospect Park was arrested on an Outstanding Warrant. Off. Von Langen conducted a motor vehicle stop on Bartle Ave. and had discovered the driver, Forson, had an active warrant out of Haledon Township. Forson was transported to headquarters for processing.

On May 7: Meliton Colon, age 72, of Plainfield was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Off. Diaz was dispatched to the area of Seneca Rd. on a report of an erratic driver. Off. Diaz located the vehicle on Seneca Rd. and discovered that the vehicle was also involved in an accident in Westfield. Off. Diaz’s on scene investigation led to the arrest of Colon, the driver, who failed a number of field sobriety tests. Colon was transported to headquarters for processing.
