Celebrate NJ Makers Day at Scotch Plains Public Library
Visit the Scotch Plains Public Library on March 24 & 25 to explore and create with our STEAM activities and projects

On Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25, the Scotch Plains Public Library, and more than 200 participating sites across New Jersey, will celebrate making, maker culture, and STEAM-based (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) learning at the third annual NJ Makers Day.
The maker movement in the United States isn’t just a hobby; it’s having a significant impact on school curriculum development and growing local economies by providing access to people, information, resources, and tools that facilitate making to a wide variety of skill levels.
Hands-on events will include beading workshops, family maker creations, a 3Doodler workshop, a kawaii felt kitty sewing workshop, and a brushbot race. Online registration is required for these events, starting Monday, March 13. Please visit the library website for more information and to register: www.scotlib.org/makersday/.

In addition to the above events, on Saturday from 10am to 2pm, the community is invited to try our littleBits, Makey Makeys, button maker, and Cricut machine; attempt a marshmallow challenge and Lego tower challenge; and make a paperback hedgehog. No registration is needed for these activities, but some supplies are limited.
The Scotch Plains Public Library is located at 1927 Bartle Avenue, one block from Park Avenue in the center of town.
