Scotch Plains-Fanwood golf coach Steve Ciccotelli wasn't happy with the way the Raiders played in Thursday's Union County Tournament at Echo Lake Country Club in Mountainside.
Room for error was pretty high considering the steady winds and quick greens along the par-72, 6,554-yard course. Westfield junior Brandon Molson won the tournament with a 76, beating teammate and runner-up Kevin Russell's 78.
Westfield won its third straight county title with 323 strokes followed by Governor Livingston's 342. New Providence was third and Oratory Prep was fourth. Scotch Plains-Fanwood was fifth with 360.

The Raiders were second behind Westfield last year.
"It was a very difficult day to play golf,'' said Ciccotelli. "I don't know how some of the kids shot the way they did with the conditions. The wind was knocking down all the shots. It was really rough.''
