All over Scotch Plains the crape myrtles are blooming with a riot of HOT color. Vivid fuschia, intense purples, firey reds, gentle pinks and pure whites are blazing atop sturdy shrubs and trees with glossy, symetrical leaves. They are in their glory right now. This is a great year to view (and plant) a hardy Crape Myrtle. Parker Gardens has a great selection. Check 'em out.
