Fanwood Police Ask Drivers To Stay Off Roads
"The roads are treacherous, we have many trees and wires down," said Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo.

FANWOOD, NJ — Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo is asking all drivers to stay of the roads.
"The roads are treacherous, we have many trees and wires down. If you encounter a downed wire treat them as if they are live, contact 911 if you see a downed wire," Trigo said.
Trigo is offering these tips to residents:

- Residents must remove all vehicles from the roadway to allow the DPW to effectively and efficiently perform snow removal operations.
- Residents must move brush from the roads and place it on their property.
- Residents should ensure that they do not shovel or snow blow their snow back into the roadway after it has been plowed as this creates a hazardous condition.
- Borough Code 259-22 states that residents shall remove all snow and ice from any sidewalk in front of their property within 12 hours of daylight after the snow has fallen or formed.
- Check on elderly neighbors or those with special needs that may require assistance during the storm.
