Fanwood Police Establish Cooling Station at the Chelsea

The cooling station is open to any resident suffering from heat-related issues, police say.

The Fanwood Police Department and the Chelsea at Fanwood reached an agreement Tuesday, establishing a cooling station at the assisted living facility on South Avenue.

Any resident who feels ill as a result of the heat can find shelter at the Chelsea, Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo said in a phone call Tuesday evening. But residents must first call the Fanwood Police Department before they head to the cooling station.

To arrange a visit, call  the Fanwood Police Department at 908-322-5000, then select option 0.
