The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA adds a Pre-K class for 4 year olds

Due to popular demand and increased need, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA will be offering an additional classroom in our Pre-K program for 4 year olds for the 2025- 2026 academic school year. Registration opens April 1, 2025.

Our program, licensed by the state of New Jersey, operates Monday - Friday, from 7:00am to 6:30pm and runs from September 2025 – June 2026. We provide warm and nurturing care for children ages 3 months-5 years, implementing the Creative Curriculum. Staff is trained in CPR and First Aid. We currently offer 5 day, full-time care only.

Additional specials including gym, music, and science are offered to all students (Toddler through Pre-K) and are included in monthly tuition fees. Each week, the children will take part in: literature and reading skills with story time, fine arts with music & art classes, physical education to develop gross motor skills, and science lessons to explore the world around them. Plus, swimming lessons are included for our 3s and 4s classes!

Outdoor play is available daily with our three playgrounds, nature trail, and camp field (weather permitting). During inclement weather, our indoor space gives the children plenty of room to exercise. We teach the children healthy habits with daily exercise and offer healthy snacks twice a day, along with milk & bottled water for lunch/snack time.
