Multiple Stolen Cars, Car Burglaries Reported In Scotch Plains

Multiple incidents of car burglaries and stolen cars were reported in Scotch Plains this month, according to the police blotter.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Multiple incidents of car burglaries and stolen cars were reported in Scotch Plains this month.

Scotch Plains Police Blotter:

On Nov. 1: Jorge A. Santos-Ramirez, 31, of Plainfield, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Rahway during a motor vehicle stop. Santos-Ramirez was then transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 1: A resident in the 2600 block of Deer Path reported a vehicle burglary. The vehicle was entered sometime overnight and is under investigation.

On Nov. 3: Paige Haneefah, 36, of Linden, was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Roselle and Maplewood during a motor vehicle stop. Haneefah was then transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 3: Jerome Hall, 29, of Camden, was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Camden and Elizabeth. Also arrested was Jarrel Daniels, 27, of Elizabeth, for possession of marijuana and an active warrant out of Rahway. Both arrests occurred during a motor vehicle stop. Both individuals were transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 4: A resident in the 1500 block of Front Street reported the theft of scrap metal from the bed of his pickup truck. The theft occurred overnight and the scrap metal was valued at $90.

On Nov. 5: Douglas R. Linsenberg, 64, of Scotch Plains, was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice for failing to comply with officer’s commands during a motor vehicle stop. Linsenberg was then transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 5: A resident in the 200 block of Donato Circle reported a fraud. A credit card was opened in the victim’s name without her knowledge and the incident is under investigation.

On Nov. 6: A resident on Winding Brook Way heard his vehicle alarm sound at approximately 2:45 a.m. and saw a tall adult male running from the vehicle. Nothing was reported taken and the incident is under investigation.

On Nov. 7: A resident in the 400 block of Hunter Avenue reported the theft of one of her tires from her vehicle. The vehicle was parked in front of her home and the theft occurred sometime overnight.

On Nov. 7: Christopher J. Richards, 23, of North Plainfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Roselle Park during a motor vehicle stop. Richards was then transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 10 at approximately 11:40 p.m.: Officer Mirabile was stationary on U.S. Route 22 eastbound. A random plate inquiry on a four-door gray 2010 Toyota Camry showed the vehicle was entered stolen by Bloomfield Police. Mirabile attempted to stop the vehicle, which fled. The vehicle was pursued into Hillside at which time the vehicle caused a minor motor vehicle accident. The pursuit was terminated at this time. No injuries were reported. The incident is under investigation.

On Nov. 11: A house fire was reported in the 200 block of Harding Road. Upon the arrival police found the garage engulfed in flames. The Scotch Plains Fire Department responded and extinguished the fire. The residents were forced to make other living arrangements for the time being and no injuries were reported.

On Nov. 11: Christopher J. Richards, 23, of North Plainfield, was arrested and charged possession of a weapon during a motor vehicle stop. Richards was then transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 12: Patrol officers responded to Jacobs Lane at approximately 10:30 p.m. on a report of a car burglary. A resident saw a suspect enter their vehicle, located in their driveway. The suspect ran towards two waiting vehicles in the street and then fled the area. Officers were approached by a neighbor who also reported the theft of two of her vehicles. A 2015 black Infiniti QX6 and a black Nissan Murano were stolen from a residence a few doors down. Both vehicles have been entered stolen and the incidents are currently under investigation.

On Nov. 13 at approximately 2:48 a.m.: Patrol officers responded to Muir Terrace on a report of a vehicle burglary. The resident saw two suspects standing near his vehicle which was parked in the street. The suspects then fled in a silver vehicle. No entry was not gained to the victim’s vehicle however it was damaged. The incident is currently under investigation.

On Nov. 13: A burglary was reported in the 300 block of Hunter Avenue. Someone forced entry into a vacant house and the incident is under investigation.

On Nov. 15: Keirjovan D. Rasulala, 31, of Plainfield was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Fanwood, Linden and Woodbridge during a motor vehicle stop. Rasulala was then transported to headquarters and processed.

On Nov. 15: A resident of Homestead Terrace reported a fraud. Someone gained access to the victim’s personal information and opened several credit cards in their name. The incident is under investigation.

On Nov. 16: A resident of Canterbury Drive reported a fraud. Someone gained access to the victim’s credit card information and made an on-line purchase. The incident is under investigation.

On Nov. 18: Vandana Kumar, 28, Linden was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Linden and Rahway while at headquarters attempting to get her vehicle released from impound. Kumar was processed then released after posted bail.

On Nov. 19: Sean C. Hairston, 44, of North Brunswick was arrested on outstanding warrants out of Elizabeth and East Orange during a motor vehicle stop. Hairston was then transported to headquarters and processed.
