Scotch Plains, Fanwood 2018 Halloween Sex Offender Safety Map

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — Before kids go out trick or treating on Halloween, fall is a good time to take an inventory of who is living in your neighborhood. Scotch Plains currently has two registered Tier 2 - moderate risk sex offenders and Fanwood has one registered Tier 2 - moderate risk sex offenders listed on the New Jersey Sex Offender Registry.

Pins on the map represent addresses of offenders convicted of sex crimes. Roll your cursor over the pins, and you will see more information pop up, including the registered sex offender's name, address, current age, convictions, and the age of the offender and victim at the time of the offense.

The registry includes Tier 2 and Tier 3 offenders: Those on Tier 2 have a moderate risk of re-offending, and Tier 3 offenders pose a "relatively high risk," according to police. The internet registry does not include Tier 1 offenders, who pose a low risk, police said.
