Scotch Plains' Gibbs Named to All-Big East Team

The basketball star is one of only two sophomores to be honored with such a distinction this year.

Scotch Plains' native Ashton Gibbs can now add another accomplishment to his list.

Gibbs has been named to the All-Big East Second Team. The University of Pittsburgh basketball guard is one of only two sophomores to earn such an accolade from Big East this year. The decision was made Sunday following a vote of the league's 16 head coaches.

A Seton Hall Prep graduate, Gibbs will join four other players, three of whom are from the New York area, on the team.
