Scotch Plains Home Burglarized

Scotch Plains Police report multiple incidents of marijuana possession, theft of gas, fraud and outstanding warrants.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A Scotch Plains home was reportedly burglarized recently, according to the police blotter.

On Jan. 5, police responded to a home on Kevin Road on a report of a burglary. The house was entered sometime between 3 and 6 p.m., police reported.

The incident is currently under investigation.

Scotch Plains Police Blotter:

On Jan. 3: The manager at the Sunoco APlus gas station located at 1746 Route 22 East reported the theft of gas. A black male driving a maroon Nissan Altima drove off after the attendant dispensed $25 worth of gas. The incident is under investigation.

On Jan. 3: Johnny Thompson, 45, of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop. Thompson was then transported to headquarters and processed.

On Jan. 4: Shadayne K. McLawrence, 23, of East Orange was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia during a motor vehicle stop. McLawrence was then transported to headquarters and processed.

On Jan. 5: Malcolm L. Christmas, 19, of Vauxhall was arrested and charged with fraud. Christmas attempted to purchase several iPhones at the AT&T store located at 2014 Route 22 East with false identification. Christmas' vehicle was stopped as he tried to leave the parking lot of the store. Christmas was transported to headquarters and processed.

On Jan. 7: A resident in the 400 block of Grant Avenue reported a fraud. The resident stated several credit cards were opened in her name without her authorization. The incident is under investigation.

On Jan. 7: Alondra D. Torres, 40, of Plainfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of South Bound Brook during a motor vehicle stop. Torres was then transported to headquarters and processed.
