A Scotch Plains man was shot and killed in Newark early Friday, authorities said. Jihad Anderson, 22, was shot near Broadway and Clay Street shortly after midnight. He was taken to St. Michael's Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead less than a half-hour later. Investigators believe Anderson may have been shot following an argument with the shooter.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force at 1-877-847-7432.
