Scotch Plains Steps Enforcement on St. Patrick's Day
Scotch Plains Police Deptartment will be strictly enforcing all quality of life and parking ordinances throughout the holiday and weekend

Scotch Plains, NJ -- If you are heading out to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, be careful as the Scotch Plains Police Department is stepping up enforcement.
The Scotch Plains Police Deptartment posted on Facebook that they will be strictly enforcing all quality of life and parking ordinances throughout the holiday and weekend.
"We want everyone to enjoy the festivities in our downtown area however, the SPPD will not tolerate open containers on our streets and please use restrooms provided for your use," the department posted.

Parking will be provided free in municipal lots and limited to marked parking stalls. Parking on the streets in the downtown area is also free. Drivers are reminded to park legally and do not block driveways or intersections.
Summonses will be issues and cars will be towed if not abiding by the rules.

"The SPPD will be out in force to combat drunk driving. If you plan to drink, please designate a sober driver or call a cab," the department posted. "Remember, You Drink, You Drive, You LOSE."
