SP-F Wrestlers Roll Over Chatham, 62-15
Chatham's team suffered several missing players due to injuries.
It wasn't much of a contest for the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High wrestling team Friday as they faced an extremely depleted Chatham Cougars on SP-F Senior Night, where each senior was celebrated with their parents at center mat before the match.
And the Raiders didn't disappoint their graduating class, as they dominated an injury-ridden Chatham team, 62-15.
"I know Chatham usually has a lot of good kids in the line-up, but unfortunately they've got a couple of injuries," SP-F Head Coach John Scholz said.

"A couple" is putting it lightly, as Chatham dressed only seven wrestlers for the match.
But Scotch Plains-Fanwood Heavyweight Mike Tufaro started things off as he used a half-nelson to record a second period pin, jumping SP-F out to a quick 6-0 lead.

After losses at 103-pounds and 112-pounds, SP-F would received a forfeit at 119-pounds giving them a 12-9 lead.
Senior team captain and Union County Champion Tristan Bundy (125) lived up to his reputation as he rolled over Chatham's David Rosenbloom, showing great technique on his feet and recording a third period technical fall.
At 130 pounds, Dion Natale increased the Raiders lead to 24-9 with a first period pin over Chatham's Jack Fields.
SP-F would then receive forfeits at 135, 140 and 145 pounds before 152-pounder Josh Foote won a hard fought 5-2 decision.
With three more forfeits to the Raiders, SP-F walked away with the easy 62-15 victory over the Cougars.
"I thought it was a great performance today," Scholz said. "It was Senior Night for us and the seniors went out there and got the job done. I was very impressed and it was a great way to finish up the last home match for us."
