A Streetcar Named Desire at the Fanwood Memorial Library

The Hudson Shakespeare Company to perform A Streetcar Named Desire at the Fanwood Library on Saturday, April 22nd @ 2pm

On Saturday, April 22nd @ 2pm, The Fanwood Memorial Library presents A Streetcar Named Desire. Join us in the library for this iconic Tennessee Williams play performed by the Hudson Shakespeare Company.

Set in New Orleans in the 1940s, Blanche DuBois (Cassidy Dermott) arrives at the home of her sister, Stella, and husband, Stanley Kowalski (Peter Banks-Kenny) after suffering the loss of her ancestral home and job. Skeptical of the story, Stanley grows infuriated by Blanche losing his wife’s birthright, and sets out to reveal the truth behind the circumstance. The conflict between the two unfolds with tragic and violent consequence.

William Shakespeare once wrote "All the World's a Stage" and no other passage can better describe the history and philosophy of the Hudson Shakespeare Company. Since 1992, the company has produced over 100 productions and counting in a variety of venues from city parks to libraries to courtrooms.
