Summer’s Vibes at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA

Registration for the Y's summer programs begins June 16 at 9:00am

This summer, there’s something for everyone at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA, with programs for youth, teens and adults focused on helping them build skills, grow stronger and have fun.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ – (June 9, 2025) – You can feel it the moment you walk through our doors: the energy, the encouragement, the welcome. This summer, join the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA and experience programs that help every member of the family grow stronger—in spirit, mind, and body.

The Summer 2025 Program Session runs from June 30 to August 31, and registration opens Monday, June 16 at 9:00am for active FSPY members. All programs are offered in two sessions to give families more flexibility and fun throughout the summer.

Swim Lessons: Summer swim lesson registration is open to all new and returning FSPY swim lessons participants. The Y has classes for ages 6 months through adult, with beginner through more advanced levels. FSPY is also offering two sessions of swim lessons this summer: June 30-July 27 and July 28-August 24. Intensive weekday lessons are also available.

Youth Sports: Join the Y for Mini Ninja Warrior for little climbers, Youth Basketball Skills Clinics where kids can develop coordination, teamwork, and a love of movement, or Youth Sports Conditioning to build endurance and speed—one class at a time.

Youth Gymnastics and Dance: Jump, tumble, and twirl! Our age-appropriate classes help kids build strength, balance, and confidence through gymnastics and dance. Summer sessions run June 30–August 3 and August 4–August 31. For advanced athletes, our year-round Competitive Gymnastics Club offers ongoing training. Dance options include Intro to Ballet/Tap and a Gymnastics/Dance Combo—perfect for kids to express themselves through movement.

Adult Sports: We offer a number of adult sports programs to meet a variety of interests such as Pickleball for all levels, Badminton and Co-Ed Volleyball pickup games. New this summer FSPY is offering a Co-Ed flag football league, where competition meets community.

Health and Safety Classes: The Y continues to offer American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED courses, which are open to FSPY members and members of the community. This summer, the Y is also offering an American Red Cross Babysitting Course for ages 11-15 to provide them with the knowledge and skills necessary to responsibly give care to children and infants.

Lifeguarding Courses: The Y also continues to offer a number of American Red Cross lifeguarding courses, including the Lifeguarding Certification Course, Lifeguarding Review Course, Lifeguard Instructor Review Course, and Lifeguard Instructor Certification Course.
