Two Car Break-Ins, One Laptop Stolen Reported in Scotch Plains

A Cicilia Place resident reported observing a thin black male wearing a black hoodie entering their unlocked car in the driveway

Scotch Plains, NJ --

On March 11: Danny Reyes, age 46, of Plainfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Off. Pereira conducted a motor vehicle stop on Raritan Rd. and discovered Reyes had an active warrant out of the Springfield Municipal Court. Reyes was transported to headquarters for processing.

On March 11: A Country Club Ln. resident reported a theft from their vehicle. The resident stated that sometime during the overnight hours, someone had entered their unlocked vehicle and stole a laptop. The vehicle was parked in front of the apartment.

On March 12: Marron Pickett, age 31, of Newark was arrested on outstanding warrants. Off. B. Belford had conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 East and discovered Pickett had several active warrants from the Essex County Sheriff’s office and Westhampton Township. Pickett was transported to headquarters for processing.

On March 12: Yves Romain, age 37, of Newark was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Off. Mirabile had conducted a motor vehicle stop on Diamond Hill Rd. and discovered Romain had an active warrant out of the City East Orange. Romain was transported to headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.

On March 13: Maria Crecca, age 38, of Roselle Park was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Off. Rites had conducted a motor vehicle stop on Portland Ave. and discovered Crecca had an active warrant out of the Union Municipal Court. Crecca was transported to headquarters for processing and released after posting bail.

On March 13: Joshua Quinteros, age 19, of Plainfield was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Off. Luciano had conducted a motor vehicle stop on Cushing Rd. in which Quinteros was a passenger. Following Off. Luciano’s investigation into the odor of burnt marijuana, Quinteros was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing.

On March 13: Wayne White, age 47, of Newark was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Off. Lavery conducted a motor vehicle stop on Route 22 East and discovered White had an active warrant out the Ewing Municipal Court. White was transported to headquarters for processing.

On March 14: A Cicilia Pl. resident reported that someone entered their vehicle during the overnight. The resident called the Police at 5:30 a.m. stating that they observed someone entering their unlocked vehicle that was parked in the driveway. The person they observed was a thin black male wearing a black hoodie. The Scotch Plains Police, with the assistance of Fanwood Police, searched the area and were unable to locate the individual.

On March 15: Christopher Moreno-Fiallos, age 22, of Plainfield was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Off. D. Belford conducted a motor vehicle stop on Rahway Rd. and while speaking with Moreno-Fiallos, the driver, Off. Belford observed marijuana cigarettes in the ashtray. After Off. Belford confirmed his observations, Moreno-Fiallos was placed under arrest and transported to headquarters for processing and released on a summons.

On March 15: Alfredo Caceres, age 35 of Roselle was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Off. B. Belford conducted a motor vehicle stop on Park Ave. and discovered Caceres had an active warrant out of the Roselle Park Municipal Court. Caceres was transported to headquarters for processing.

On March 15: Robert Boyce, age 29, of Selbyville, Delaware was arrested for Driving Under the Influence. Off. Luciano was dispatched to East. 2nd St. on a report of an unconscious man behind the wheel of a vehicle that was running. Boyce remained unconscious during the encounter and was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Off. Luciano’s investigation at the scene led to Boyce receiving a driving while under the influence charge.

On March 20: Victor Pena-Polanco, age 56, of Plainfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant. Off. Luciano had conducted a motor vehicle stop on Raritan Rd. and discovered Pena- Polanco had an active warrant out of the Plainfield Municipal Court. Pena-Polanco was transported to headquarters for processing.

On March 20: Saladine Nunez Jr., age 28, of Fords was arrested for Possession of Marijuana. Off. B. Belford conducted a motor vehicle stop on Park Ave. and while speaking to the driver, detected an odor of marijuana. Off. Belford’s investigation led to him finding marijuana on Nunez. Nunez was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing.
