Union County Man Guilty Of Attempted Robbery With Knife: Prosecutor
The man lunged at a store employee with a knife after being confronted for stealing: prosecutor

Bound Brook, NJ - A Plainfield man was found guilty for trying to rob a store in Bound Brook with a knife, Acting Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson announced Tuesday.
After a six day trial, a Somerset County jury found Luis A. Flores, 38, last known address Crescent Avenue, Plainfield, guilty of first degree robbery, and of third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
On April 1, 2015 an employee of a Hamilton Street convenience store saw Flores steal items. When the employee confronted Flores he pulled out a knife, pointed it at the victim and lunged at him, according to the release.

A witness saw what was going on and stepped in to help. The employee and the witness were able to hold Flores until Bound Brook Police arrived, who disarmed him and arrested him.
The employee reportedly sustained abrasions to his hand during the incident.

Flores was remanded to the Somerset County Jail pending sentencing, which is scheduled for Aug. 22.
