Wanted Attempted Murderer Arrested In Union County
Nafis Chapmin, 25, of North Plainfield was arrested in connection to a domestic related incident in Plainfield.

PLAINFIELD, NJ — Authorities arrested Nafis Chapmin, 25, on Wednesday night, who was wanted for attempted murder and other charges stemming from a domestic related incident in Plainfield.
Chapmin, whose last known address was North Plainfield, was arrested at around 5:10 p.m. without incident in Plainfield by a Patrol Sergeant and a Detective as a result of a tip regarding his whereabouts.
"This was made possible by some members of the press who were able to get the word out quickly to the public. Thank you," Plainfield Police reported. "Community cooperation is always greatly appreciated and often results in positive outcomes such as this evening's arrest without incident."

A fugitive alert was sent out early Wednesday morning stating that Chapman was wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Chapmin was wanted for attempted murder, weapons offenses and certain persons not to possess firearms charges in connection to the incident on Monday.

The victim is reportedly safe and doesn't have any major injuries, Plainfield Police reported. The victim's name will not be released due to fear of retaliation.
