How Many Tickets Issued In Secaucus Distracted Driving Campaign?
184 people were pulled over in Secaucus PD's distracted driving crackdown from April 1 through April 21.

SECAUCUS, NJ — People in Secaucus sure do like to talk on their cell phones while driving.
During a 21-day distracted driving crackdown this past April, Secaucus police issued 60 tickets to drivers for talking or texting on their cell phones. In the month of April, many towns in New Jersey, including Secaucus, were given funds from the state to add extra patrols to the roadways, specifically to look for distracted drivers.
During that time period, from April 1 through April 21, Secaucus police added 115 hours of roving patrols.

184 drivers were stopped in total, and 85 tickets total were issued. The majority of those, 60, were for cell phone violations, Capt. Dennis Miller of the Secaucus police said. But others were for careless driving.
