iPhone Stolen In Craigslist Scam At Secaucus' Bagel Buffet

SECAUCUS, NJ — A person had their iPhone 10 stolen at the Bagel Buffet in Secaucus in what turned out to be a Craigslist scam, said Secaucus police.

The incident occurred this past Sunday morning, Nov. 17: The victim reported that they had arranged to meet a young woman at the Bagel Buffet before 10 a.m. that morning. The plan was they would sell her their iPhone 10, valued at $600, said police.

However, the phone was grabbed by a co-conspirator, who ran out of the store and fled, said police. Neither the phone or that person were located by police.

Secaucus police were called to Bagel Buffet at 9:13 a.m. and the young woman, Alanna Reed, 22, of Keyport, NJ, was arrested. She was charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft.

She was also found to be wanted on an outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Middlesex County Sheriff's Office with no bail. Reed was taken to the Hudson County Jail.

The victim is not a Secaucus resident.
