Locked, Unlocked Cars Being Broken Into In Secaucus

The burglaries occurred May 11/12 on Hagan Place, and in the residential area off Meadowlands Parkway, referred to as the "Baker Property."

SECAUCUS, NJ — Someone is breaking into unlocked cars in Secaucus, police report.

Last Saturday, May 12, the Secaucus police department received numerous reports from residents that their vehicles were broken into during the overnight hours of Friday and Saturday, May 11 and 12. The burglaries occurred on Hagan Place in the North End section of town, and in the residential area off Meadowlands Parkway, referred to as the “Baker Property.”

With the exception of one of the vehicles, all the cars had been left unlocked.

Secaucus police are reminding residents to always lock their cars when they park them. Also, do not keep valuables (e.g. change, electronics, purses, etc.) in plain view within an unoccupied vehicle.

“All residents are asked to immediately report suspicious persons to the police department, but are advised never to approach any of these individuals. Reports can be made by calling 911 or (201) 330-2060,” said Secaucus Police Chief Kevin Flaherty.
