Secaucus Man Did Online Shopping Using Stolen Names, Police Say

A local Secaucus man is accused of ordering items in other peoples' names and fraudulently receiving online orders.

SECAUCUS, NJ — A local Secaucus man is accused of ordering items in other peoples' names and fraudulently receiving packages.

The man, Anton Garrett, 36, of Secaucus was arrested July 24.

On June 19, a resident of the 200 block of Maple Street reported to police this was happening. Police say he was found with personal identifying information of five victims.

He was not the neighbor of any of the victims, and none of the victims lived in Secaucus. Some of the items he ordered included lighting fixtures and a microwave, said police.

Garrett was charged with identity theft, fencing, conspiracy to commit identity theft and trafficking in personal identifying information.

He was issued his complaint summons and was released from police custody.
