• Former Hasbrouck Heights HS Footballer Charged With Stabbing Teen In Brawl (tapinto.net) — South Hackensack officers were among several neighboring departments called in to help Hasbrouck Heights police break up a late-night brawl on Terrace Avenue, where a teen was reportedly slashed and a car window smashed. Investigators later charged a 19-year-old former Hasbrouck Heights High School football captain with aggravated assault and related offenses. The victim’s injuries were described as not life-threatening. 
• Secaucus Mayor Vows To Sue American Dream Mall, Says Mall Owes NJ Towns Millions (patch.com) — South Hackensack is among eleven Meadowlands towns that officials say are owed roughly $387,500 each from the American Dream mall under a long-standing impact-grant agreement. Secaucus and Carlstadt leaders are now preparing to sue the mall’s owners, arguing the payments are overdue despite the mall’s financial troubles and high event traffic. Local taxpayers could ultimately benefit if the towns force a settlement.
