11 Car Accidents So Far in South Brunswick

Stay off the roads! Rt. 522 and Rt. 1 and Rt. 27 near Promenade Blvd​. are seeing the most fender benders, police say.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ - The winter storm caused 11 car accidents Thursday in South Brunswick, Township police report. Additionally, a dozen vehicles have become disabled and are stuck either on the roads or in the snow on the side of the roads.

The intersection of Rt. 522 and Rt. 1, and Rt. 27 near Promenade Blvd. are the two worst spots for slip-and-slide fender benders, police said. Those intersections are seeing the most crashes today, they said. Rt. 535 (Cranbury-South River Road) is also seeing crashes.

So far the crashes have involved cars and one truck, and no one has been seriously injured.

According to weather predictions, the storm should ease up by 11 a.m., with South Brunswick getting 5-9 inches of snowfall total.
