Islamic Society of Central Jersey in South Brunswick Holds Food Drive

The Islamic Society of Central Jersey in South Brunswick is collecting canned goods through Sunday as part of a national charity food drive.

The Islamic Society of Central Jersey is collecting canned goods through Sunday as part of a national charity food drive.

The drive, called “Feed Their Legacy,” was created in honor of three young adults of Muslim faith who were shot and killed in Chapel Hill, N.C. last month.

According to a news release about the food drive, the three students, Deah Barakat, 23, his wife Yusor Abu-Salha, 21, and her sister Razan Abu-Salha, 19, had worked with community groups, including Habitat for Humanity.

Canned goods will be collected at the The Islamic Society of Central Jersey, 4145 Route 1 in the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.

All items will be donated to the South Brunswick Food Pantry.
