Is This The Luckiest Mile In South Brunswick?

Three big prize-winning lottery tickets have been sold in the same area of South Brunswick in the last few years.

It may just be the luckiest mile in town.

On Wednesday, lottery officials announced that a $1 million, second-prize wining Mega Millions ticket had been sold at Pierre’s Deli on Georges Road in South Brunswick.

That ticket is the third big winning lottery ticket to be sold in the area since 2012.

The other two tickets were sold a little more than a mile away, at the Stop & Shop on Route 522 and Summerfield Boulevard in town.

In August 2013, one of three winning Powerball lottery tickets was sold at that grocery store.

In that case, the three ticket-holders split a $448 million prize.

And in May 2012, a $1 million winning Powerball lottery ticket was sold at the same grocery store, but that prize was never claimed and the ticket expired a year later.
