Man Drives Car Into South Brunswick American Legion After Fight With Mom

A man who was upset after arguing with his mother on Christmas has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident after he drove his car in the American Legion Post 401, according to a report on NJ.com.

Anthony Senopole, 32, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and reckless driving after the accident, which caused several thousand dollars’ worth of damage to the building, according to NJ.com.

Senopole told police he bashed into the building after accidentally hitting the accelerator, South Brunswick Lt. Jim Ryan told NJ.com. The accident happened about 10 p.m. as he left the Legion post to go back home and continue arguing with his mother, according to the report.

The force of the car hitting the building forced the door open and pushed the entire front wall of the building in about 8 inches, according to the report.

Car parts scattered at the scene were traced to Senopole’s car, and he later admitted responsibility for the accident, according to the report.
