New Members Sworn In, BOE President Elected In South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Three new Board of education members were sworn in and a new President and Vice President were elected Thursday in South Brunswick.
Newcomers Alisha Khan, Laura Hernandez and Julie Ferrara took their oath of office during Thursday’s BOE meeting.
The Board then went on to elect Lisa Rodgers and Smitha Raj as President and Vice President of the BOE.

Rodgers thanked all the board members for their confidence and for voting for her. “These past few years have been tough, but we stayed the course. We learned so much when times are challenging, when we are tired, or when we feel that integrity is being questioned,” Rodgers said. “That being said this board has remained focused and steadfast.”
She welcomed the new board members and thanked the school district staff for all the work they put in.

After the reorganization meeting, Superintendent Scott Feder informed the community that the district has an upcoming job fair on Jan. 18 in the township. Feder said the district will continue to host job fairs until they are able to fully staff all areas.
