Overnight Work To Cause Major Delays On Route 18

Overnight bridge work on Route 18 scheduled to run between Friday and Monday will cause major delays in the area, police said.

The work will run from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on both sides of Route 18 at Route 1, East Brunswick police said in an alert.

The ramps from Route 1 north and south onto Route 18 north and south will be closed during those work hours.

There will also be other lane closures and major slow-downs, because demolition work will be done, police said.

Detours will be in place, but drivers should expect major delays and plan alternate routes.
