Pit Bull Attacks, Seriously Injures Owner In South Brunswick

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ – Two South Brunswick residents were attacked by their pit bull at home on Tuesday, with one person sustaining serious injuries, police said.

At 1:35 p.m. South Brunswick Police responded to a New Road home on a report of two residents bitten by their dog. Officers arrived to find a 63-year-old man with several bite marks on his arms and legs and a 65-year-old woman with bite marks on her wrist, police said.

Another resident, a man in his 30’s had wrestled the dog and had it pinned down. According to the two victims, the man was in his bedroom when his pit bull dog came in and attacked him, police said. The woman ran into the room after hearing the screaming and was bitten by the dog. Both residents told police the attack was unprovoked.

The man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital by South Brunswick EMS and paramedics. The woman was taken to the same hospital by North Brunswick EMS. The South Brunswick Animal Control took control of the dog, police said.
