Man Killed In Police-Involved Shooting In Plainsboro: AG

The shooting occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Ravens Crest Drive, Plainsboro. No other injuries were reported.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — A man was fatally shot by police outside a residence in Plainsboro on Wednesday, NJ Attorney General said.

The shooting occurred shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Ravens Crest Drive, Plainsboro. Law enforcement officers, including members of the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, were outside a residence when they encountered the man, according the Attorney General.

"During the encounter, one officer discharged his service weapon, fatally wounding the man. A knife was recovered near the man," said the news release from the AG' office. No other injuries were reported.

Officers and emergency medical personnel rendered first aid to the man, who was taken to Princeton Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 12:10 p.m., according to the statement.

The Attorney General’s Office is conducting an investigation, pursuant to Attorney General Directive 2019-4, of any death that occurs during an encounter with a law enforcement officer acting in the officer’s official capacity or while the decedent is in custody, and which establishes clear standards and procedures for conducting such investigations.
