Police in Middlesex County Searching For Fake Utility Workers
East Brunswick police say the men posed as water utility workers to get into Caldwell Court home.

East Brunswick police said they are searching for two men who posed as water utility workers to gain entry to a Caldwell Court home.
Around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, police were called to the house.
The homeowner told officers that the men said they needed to check the pipes in the house because there was a problem with the neighborhood’s water supply, police said in a news release.

The men went into the basement and turned off the cold water. One man then went to the kitchen to check that sink, while the other said he was going upstairs to check the bathroom, police said. But the homeowner went upstairs too and found that man in the bedroom, police said.
The resident confronted the men and they fled, leaving the area in a small black vehicle.
