New Brunswick police are searching for three thieves who forced their way into a city home and held a woman at gunpoint during a home invasion robbery this weekend.

Around 10 p.m. Sunday, three men, wearing ski masks, forced their way into a Hamilton Street home, according to a news release from Capt. JT Miller.

They held a female resident at gunpoint, and stole items, including cell phones and jewelry, police said. They fled and the woman was not injured.

The woman told police her roommates had spotted the robbers coming, so the roommates jumped out of a window, the news release said.

The woman also told detectives she believed the robbers had been targeting her roommates because they frequently sold marijuana from the house, according to news release.

Police said they saw evidence that confirmed the woman’s statement about drugs, and detectives found the roommates about a block away, outside a pizzeria.

Police arrested the roommates: Cesar Terreros-Andreade, 22, Edward Hernandez, 18, and William Lawrence, 23. All three were charged with obstruction.

Both Terreros-Andreade and Hernandez were also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police are still searching for the robbers.

They were described as a black male, who wore a tan vest and boots, and two Hispanic males, who both wore black hooded sweatshirts.

Police said they are also continuing to work to determine the extent of drug dealing that took place at that home.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Brandt Gregus at (732) 745-5217.
