Police in Middlesex County Searching For Men Who Tried To Steal Merchandise From Mall

Police say the two men tried to steal items from Macy's in Brunswick Square Mall on Thursday.

East Brunswick police are looking for two men, who they say tried to steal merchandise from Macy’s in Brunswick Square Mall Thursday night.

During a scuffle with one of the men, a store loss prevention officer suffered a knee injury, according to a news release from police.

Police were called to the store around 8:40 p.m. Thursday.

The store employee confronted the men when they tried to leave the store without paying for items, police said.

During the scuffle, the thief dropped the merchandise and both men ran away.

The thieves were described as two black men in their mid-20s. One wore all black clothing and the other wore a gray shirt and gray pants.

The loss prevention officer refused medical attention at the scene.
