Rt. 27 Road Closure to Begin Friday

Rt. 27 in both directions will be closed from Rt. 518 to Old Road all weekend.

South Brunswick, NJ - Update 11:30 a.m. Wednesday: Just hours after notifying the Township that Rt. 27 would be closed, South Brunswick police said the planned shutdown has been canceled until further notice.

A planned shutdown of Rt. 27 that was supposed to take place back in August was canceled last month, but has been rescheduled for this Friday, Sept. 16, the Township announced:

Rt. 27 northbound and southbound — in both directions — will be closed between Rt. 518 and Old Road beginning Friday at 9 p.m. and lasting through Monday, Sept. 19 at 6 a.m. Please follow the designated detours while traveling through the area. All roadwork is weather dependent. The road is shut down so the DOT can install a temporary bridge for a drainage project.
