Rutgers Students Can Now Register For Project Move Out
To avoid fines, students moving out for the summer must register before leaving bulk items at the curbside for pick-up.

Rutgers students can begin registering for Project Move-Out.
The project, in its fourth year, is a partnership between the City of New Brunswick and Rutgers University.
“(It) provides an easy way for students to dispose of bulk items while keeping city streets neat and clean,’’ according to a news release from the city.

Students who live-off campus and are moving out for the summer must register before leaving bulk items curbside for pick-up.
The items will be recycled, and registered students will avoid fines for improper disposal of trash, according to Rutgers.

In 2014, almost 849 tons of bulk waste was collected, and in 2013, some 518 tons was picked up, the city’s news release said.
Registration began Monday and is open until noon May 20. To register, visit ruoffcampus.rutgers.edu/projectmoveout.
Bulk pickup dates are scheduled for May 21, May 22, May 26, and, May 27. Bulk waste items should not be placed curbside earlier than 5 p.m. on the night before the scheduled collection date, according to the city’s news release.
Drop-off sites will also be set up on the College Avenue campus and at the New Brunswick Department of Public Works. On the same dates as bulk pick-up, students with valid Rutgers identification can drop off items in the parking lot behind the Rutgers Student Center between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Students and residents with identification that proves they live in the city can also drop off large items and furniture at the Public Works Department, 400 Jersey Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 30 and June 6.
