Second South Brunswick Protest March Planned For This Friday

Friday's march is organized by Essence Baker and Jada-Rae Poku, both Township residents and graduates of South Brunswick High School.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ — Last Tuesday, an estimated 500 people participated in this protest march in South Brunswick. And now a second march is planned for this Friday, June 12.

Friday's march is organized by Essence Baker and Jada-Rae Poku, both Township residents and graduates of South Brunswick High School.

The protest rally will begin at 4:30 p.m. They will meet at South Brunswick High School.

"Having grown up in our lovely town, we have always loved being able to look at our fellow classmates and neighbors and to see so much diversity. It is that diversity that we aim to continue to unite and encourage," said the local women.

They are asking that everyone that attends to bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the South Brunswick Food Pantry.

"Due to the murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor, and other racial injustices, we would like to provide a peaceful and safe outlet for members of our community to show their support, share their stories and come closer together as a community," said Baker and Poku.
