WEATHER ALERT: Snow, Speed Restrictions Make New Jersey Commute A Mess

New Jersey is getting about an inch of snow right now that’s making a mess of things in the northern and central areas.

But don’t expect it to stick around for long.

News 12 meteorologists say once the snow stops, it is expected to be mostly cloudy, with winds gusting upward of 30 mph.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for much of New Jersey and eastern Pennsylvania, saying an inch or two of snow will make for a slippery morning and afternoon commute.

Today’s high will be about 33 degrees, although the wind chill temperatures will drop to about 17 degrees in central New Jersey.

As of 9 a.m., there was snow removal and a 45-mph speed restriction on the New Jersey Turnpike in both directions from Interchange 8 to the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee.

There was also a 45-mph speed restriction on the Garden State Parkway in both directions from north of Exit 114 in Holmdel to south of Exit 130 n Woodbridge.
